For richer, for poorer, in good times and bad, in sickness and health, till death do us part- wow! My parents have lived the vow of marriage they made to each other 60 years ago. My mother is now having difficulty walking and is not recognizing people. Her decline is significant. Dad has hired help five days a week. He certainly is fulfilling his vows and taking care of her as this ugly disease takes over her brain. My heart is broken for both of them. It is so difficult. My one sister helps every night and weekend. My other sister shows up for 30 minutes once a week. This disease has shown us what we are all made of and how much strength my dad has. Happy Anniversary mom and dad!

Barbara Magro, M.A., was born and raised in a traditional Italian family in the suburbs of New York City. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, she began her career as a media professional in Los Angeles.

So sorry to learn that your mother is so ill. No prizes for guessing which sister shows up for 30 minutes each week.
Hope the book does well.
